Chelsea deny reports of Liverpool agreement for Yan Diomande amid transfer links

Rumors about Yan Diomande reaching an agreement to join Liverpool have been denied by a source close to the player, who also shared his current thoughts.

Both Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in the midfielder after his impressive season at RB Leipzig. Despite claims that Diomande had agreed terms with Liverpool, those reports have been dismissed by his camp.

With 12 goal contributions in 22 league matches, it was expected that larger clubs would take notice.

According to TEAMtalk, scouts from Chelsea, Liverpool, and other major European clubs have been tracking the young winger’s progress.

However, a source close to Diomande has confirmed that these claims are unfounded.

Chelsea supporters will be relieved, particularly after losing out on Jeremy Jacquet. Nevertheless, if they are interested in Diomande, Leipzig has set a hefty price of £87 million for the Ivorian forward, as reported by Christian Falk via CF Bayern Insider.

Yan Diomande shines against Borussia Dortmund

Leipzig drew 2-2 with Borussia Dortmund, but Diomande delivered a strong performance.

He assisted one of Leipzig’s goals and created two clear chances, according to Sofascore. Additionally, he completed three out of four dribbles and made nine progressive carries.

Dortmund had difficulty handling him, which explains the interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.

Diomande will represent Ivory Coast in the upcoming World Cup, so any transfer will likely be delayed until after the tournament.
