The NBA’s top two teams face off on Wednesday night as the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Detroit Pistons, which could foreshadow the NBA Finals. The Thunder are missing their reigning MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, for the ninth consecutive game. Despite this, they have managed to win three straight games, improving their record to 5-3 after initially starting 0-2 without SGA.
If OKC wants to keep their winning streak going, they’ll need a stronger performance from Chet Holmgren than in their last match against the Toronto Raptors. Holmgren scored only seven points on 3-of-8 shooting in 30 minutes, which is significantly lower than his season average of 17.2 points per game.
