Arsenal is joining Manchester United and Juventus in the race to acquire Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United. Reports suggest that Arsenal has a solid chance to pursue him.
Fabrizio Romano, through DailyAFC, noted, “I can confirm that Arsenal will look for midfielders in the summer. There’s a good possibility of Sandro Tonali moving then, but Arsenal isn’t the only interested club.”
Currently, Tonali has shown no desire to leave Newcastle, yet if he decides to move, it seems clubs like Juventus will be less appealing to him, as he prefers the challenge of the Premier League.
Romano’s insight about Tonali possibly moving this summer is positive for Arsenal, as the main obstacle may not be the competition but his own choice to stay at St. James’s Park.
Arsenal is highly competitive in the Premier League. They made it to the Champions League semifinals last season and are performing well this year.
While Arsenal could use a midfielder, especially with Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice, their backup options are aging, and none possess the unique athletic and creative abilities that Tonali offers.
