Chelsea surprised many by actively pursuing Alejandro Garnacho, a former Manchester United player, but his performance at Stamford Bridge has been disappointing, similar to his time at Old Trafford last season.

According to Football.London, Chelsea is already considering selling Garnacho in the summer 2026 transfer window if his performance does not improve by the end of the 2025/26 Premier League season.

This season, Garnacho has made 16 league appearances and has only one goal and three assists, despite being a regular starter on the left wing. He averages 1.1 key passes and 1.0 fouls drawn per game.

While these numbers indicate some creativity, they fall short for a starting left winger on a Champions League-level team like Chelsea.

The team needs more productivity and reliability from the 21-year-old, who tends to struggle against stronger opponents and excels against weaker teams, particularly in the League Cup.

Chelsea is looking for a dynamic left winger who can score, contribute defensively, and perform consistently. Although Garnacho shows flashes of talent, he lacks the form and sustained success the team requires.

Having invested £40 million in Garnacho, Chelsea is expecting more than what he has delivered, which resembles the output of a £20 million forward. If his situation does not improve, Chelsea might consider replacing him with someone like Nico Williams, a long-time target.
