Austin FC has signed forward Christian Ramirez from the Los Angeles Galaxy, effective Friday.
Ramirez played in the Galaxy’s CONCACAF Champions Cup match against Academia de Futbol Sporting San Miguelito on February 19. He was waived two days later after the team opted for a buyout.
Austin FC sporting director Rodolfo Borrell stated, “Christian is well-respected in Major League Soccer as both a player and person. He is a great addition to our forward lineup, and we’re pleased to have him in Austin this season.”
The 35-year-old MLS veteran has previously played for Minnesota United (2017-18), Los Angeles FC (2018-19), Houston Dynamo (2019-21), Columbus Crew (2023-24), and the Galaxy, which he joined in 2025. Last season, he scored four goals and provided one assist in 25 matches.
Throughout his career, Ramirez has recorded 55 goals and 17 assists in 185 regular-season games, with four goals in eight playoff matches.
Ramirez expressed excitement about joining Austin FC, saying, “Austin FC has built an exciting soccer community since it began and is eager to compete at a high level. My family and I look forward to meeting everyone and contributing to this talented team as we aim for a successful season.”
