• Wolves secured a surprising late win against Arne Slot’s team at Molineux.

  • The hosts took the lead with a goal from Rodrigo Gomes.

  • Liverpool equalized with a strike from Mo Salah.

  • Andre’s injury-time goal sparked celebrations for Wolves.

Andre’s deflected shot in the 94th minute gave Wolves, at the bottom of the Premier League, a shocking 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Molineux.

Wolves coach Rob Edwards celebrated vigorously after the game, reminiscent of their recent derby win over Aston Villa, when Andre’s bold effort took a significant deflection off Joe Gomez, leaving Alisson unable to react in injury time.

Liverpool arrived in the West Midlands aiming for a win to match Manchester United and Aston Villa in the top-four race, but they struggled from the start.

Although the Reds had the only two shots on target in the first half, neither challenged Wolves’ goalkeeper Jose Sa significantly.

Arne Slot’s team nearly scored early in the second half from a corner by Mohamed Salah, but Cody Gakpo’s flick hit the crossbar, and Milos Kerkez couldn’t follow up.

Wolves took the lead in the 78th minute, with Rodrigo Gomes chipping the ball over Alisson after excellent hold-up play by substitute Tolu Arokodare.

Liverpool quickly responded, leveling just five minutes later when Salah intercepted a poor pass from Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and powered past Sa.

Despite chances for Virgil van Dijk, who missed a great headed opportunity, Wolves struck again in injury time, as Andre’s shot deflected off a defender, leaving Alisson without a chance.
