Arsenal boosted their Premier League title hopes with a 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, thanks to Bukayo Saka.

With Manchester City drawing against Nottingham Forest, Arsenal took the opportunity to increase their lead to seven points.

Saka, celebrating his 300th appearance for Arsenal, scored the crucial goal; his shot deflected off Carlos Baleba and slipped past Bart Verbruggen, who couldn’t respond in time.

Arsenal faced a scare earlier when Baleba’s lob went over a stranded David Raya, but Gabriel Magalhaes made a crucial intervention.

Brighton fought back well and nearly equalised when Georginio Rutter’s powerful shot was deflected by Raya’s fingertips, but they couldn’t score.

Leandro Trossard, a former Brighton player, missed a clear chance late in the game, shooting wide from Jurrien Timber’s cross, but it didn’t affect Arsenal’s win.
