Juan Carlos Ferrero will discuss his separation from Carlos Alcaraz in an interview airing on Thursday.
Ferrero, who coached Alcaraz for seven years, spoke with Spanish journalist Josef Pedrerol about their split.
Preview clips show Ferrero wanting to communicate directly with Alcaraz.
The interview also features Ferrero creating his ideal tennis player by choosing the best shots in the sport.
Ferrero selected Rafael Nadal’s famous forehand as the best, stating, “Forehand? Rafa. All my respect.”

When discussing the best forehands in history, names like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Juan Martin del Potro often come up.
In his conversation with Pedrerol, Ferrero chose Federer’s forehand as the finest.
For backhand, he selected Stan Wawrinka.
Ferrero’s other picks included Nadal’s mindset, Wayne Arthurs’ serve, and Novak Djokovic’s return. He also praised Alcaraz’s volleying skills.
“I could mention Stefan Edberg,” Ferrero noted, “but I admire Carlos’ effectiveness at the net—he is one of the best.”
Ferrero also highlighted Alcaraz’s footwork and split the drop shot pick between Alcaraz and Gaston Gaudio.
Ferrero’s praise for Alcaraz misses a significant name
Ferrero rightly acknowledges Alcaraz’s strong net game, which is a standout feature of his overall play.
Though Ferrero mentioned both Alcaraz and Edberg, he did not include Rafael Nadal, who is notable for his volleying throughout his successful career.
Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, was recognized as one of the top players at the net. He referred to Alcaraz as a legend during his career, which concluded in 2024.
