The win helped ease Crystal Palace’s relegation concerns.
Ismaila Sarr put a dent in Tottenham’s hopes with a first-half brace, leading Crystal Palace to a 3-1 victory. Tottenham’s captain Micky van de Ven was sent off during the match.
Following Nottingham Forest’s draw with Manchester City and West Ham’s win against Fulham, Spurs are now just one point above the relegation zone.
Sarr almost gave Palace the lead in the 29th minute when his deflected shot went over goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. However, a VAR review ruled the goal offside by a narrow margin.
Spurs took advantage just five minutes later when Dominic Solanke scored after a pass from Archie Gray.
The match took a turn when van de Ven received a straight red card for a foul on Sarr in the penalty area. Sarr converted the resulting penalty to equalize.
In first-half stoppage time, Sarr scored again, finishing a brilliant pass from Adam Wharton.
After halftime, Spurs pushed for a comeback but failed to score. Solanke was denied by a close save from Dean Henderson, while Jorgen Strand Larsen missed a chance at the other end, allowing Palace to secure the win.
