Tottenham suffers 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, remains winless in Premier League for 2026.

Tottenham Hotspur is now in a precarious position after losing 3-1 to Crystal Palace at home, leaving them just above the relegation zone.

In the 34th minute, the team seemed to be in control when Dominic Solanke scored from Archie Gray’s low cross, putting Spurs up 1-0. However, things took a turn for the worse after Micky van de Ven was sent off for a foul on Ismaila Sarr, leading to three quick goals for Palace in just 12 minutes. Van de Ven will miss the upcoming match against Liverpool on March 15 due to suspension.

With this defeat, Igor Tudor becomes the first Tottenham head coach to lose his first three Premier League matches. His position is now under significant scrutiny just three weeks after taking over as interim manager.

Glenn Murray comments on Tottenham’s performance against Crystal Palace.

West Ham and Nottingham Forest, also battling relegation, had successful outings. West Ham beat Fulham away, while Forest managed a 2-2 draw against Manchester City, further intensifying Tottenham’s need for a win.

During the West Ham match, fans chanted toward Tottenham, signaling that the team needed a strong performance. However, despite taking an early lead, Van de Ven’s red card turned the tide in favor of Crystal Palace.

Former Premier League player Glenn Murray stated that Tottenham squandered their chance to win. He commented, “Tottenham is in a relegation fight. This was their game in hand, and they missed an opportunity.” He noted that the red card shifted the momentum completely in Crystal Palace’s favor.

Tottenham’s situation worsens.

After this loss, Tottenham is only one point above the relegation zone and has not won a domestic match in 2026. With nine games remaining, including matches against Liverpool and Chelsea, the outlook isn’t promising for Tudor’s squad.

The players appear drained, lacking confidence and energy. Moreover, injuries are taking a toll, with Van de Ven’s suspension adding to their troubles. While Cristian Romero will return for the next match, Van de Ven’s absence is felt deeply.

It’s a challenging situation for Tudor, as the team has lost three consecutive London derbies, and many fans are losing faith in the coach.
