Good news for the Boston Celtics: Jayson Tatum is returning.
After recovering from a torn Achilles injury sustained against the New York Knicks in the 2025 Eastern Conference semifinals, Tatum is set to play on Friday night against the Dallas Mavericks.
Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg, who recently came back after missing eight games, spoke about facing Tatum for the first time.
“Tatum was one of the players I admired growing up. I shaped my game after him, watching him from Duke to the NBA,” Flagg said.
“His recovery journey has been truly impressive.”
Although the Celtics are doing well this season without Tatum, currently ranking second in the Eastern Conference, their recent 118-89 loss to Charlotte highlighted the need for his presence.
