Arsenal currently leads the Premier League table. Mikel Arteta’s team seems ready to capture their first league title in over 20 years. Meanwhile, how are their loaned players performing this season?
Arsenal has five senior players on loan at clubs like Brentford, Porto, and Marseille. Here’s a look at how they are doing in the 2025/26 season.
Ethan Nwaneri
Ethan Nwaneri, the youngest debutant in Premier League history, isn’t ready for a regular spot in Arsenal’s first team. Consequently, the Gunners loaned him to Marseille.
He’s off to a solid start in Ligue 1, scoring one goal and providing an assist in his first five games. However, he faced criticism for missing a crucial penalty in a shoot-out.
Jakub Kiwior
Jakub Kiwior served mainly as a backup at Arsenal, so a loan move made sense after defensive upgrades. He is having a good season at Porto, with 17 appearances in the Primeira Liga and one assist.
Porto currently leads the Portuguese League, indicating Kiwior is succeeding at the Estádio do Dragão.
Fabio Vieira
Due to summer arrivals, Fabio Vieira was also loaned out after not fully settling at Arsenal. He is having a better run at Hamburg in the Bundesliga, with four goals and four assists so far.
While the Bundesliga’s quality is sometimes questioned, Vieira is regaining form at the Volksparkstadion.
Karl Hein
Karl Hein has been at Arsenal since 2018 but has not made a first-team appearance in the Premier League. With David Raya in goal, Hein was loaned to Werder Bremen.
At Werder, he has struggled for playing time, appearing in just two games and conceding four goals in one match against Bayern Munich. He did manage a clean sheet in his next outing but hasn’t returned to the starting lineup since.
Reiss Nelson
Reiss Nelson’s situation is unfortunate. When fit, he can be a key player for Arsenal, but injuries have limited his opportunities.
His injury problems have continued during his loan at Brentford, and he has played only six Premier League matches this season.
At just 26 years old, there’s still hope for Nelson to overcome these challenges.
