Sergi Solans, Aiden Hezarkhani, and Zavier Gozo each scored in the first half as Real Salt Lake defeated Atlanta United 3-2 on Saturday, marking Atlanta’s 2026 home opener. Morgan Guilavogui provided an assist in his first MLS start.

After starting the season with a loss, Salt Lake (2-1-0, 6 points) secured its second consecutive victory.

Atlanta (0-3-0, 0 points) ended a goalless streak with two goals from Alexey Miranchuk but still suffered a third straight defeat this season.

Atlanta United had some early possession as they aimed to impress their home crowd.

However, RSL took the lead in the 23rd minute on a counter-attack. Guilavogui passed to Solans, who beat defender Juan Berrocal and scored, marking his first MLS goal.

Hezarkhani doubled the score to 2-0 in the 27th minute by finding space and shooting past goalkeeper Lucas Hoyos for his second goal of the season.

Gozo extended the lead to 3-1 in the 40th minute with a shot placed inside the far post, scoring his first goal of the season.

Miranchuk scored both of Atlanta’s goals in the 38th and 74th minutes, breaking their 217-minute scoring drought this season.

Atlanta managed four shots on goal, with Rafael Santos making two saves. Hoyos recorded two saves on RSL’s five shots on target.

Atlanta United has been outscored 7-2 in their first three matches.

Matias Galarza, who joined Atlanta on loan from River Plate on Monday, made his MLS debut in the 59th minute.
