United had shown interest in Guimaraes back in 2022 before he signed with Newcastle, where he has become a leading midfielder in the Premier League.

United signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million, with a smooth process that led to the announcement on the first day of the transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano reported that discussions with Cunha’s agent were productive, suggesting a positive outcome for any future dealings with Guimaraes, as both players are represented by the same agency.
Both Brazilian players are managed by Bertolucci Sports, led by Giuliano Bertolucci.
Jorge Mendes also contributed to Cunha’s transfer, collaborating with Bertolucci to secure the £62.5 million deal.
Bertolucci Sports represents other well-known Brazilians, including Gabriel Magalhaes, Andrey Santos, Marquinhos, Andreas Pereira, and Douglas Luiz.
