Possible Player Exits for Tottenham This Season
Tottenham Hotspur is expected to focus on their defense during the upcoming summer transfer window, as key players Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero may leave the club.
This situation could push Tottenham to seek replacements.
In addition to their main defenders, Kevin Danso, currently a backup, has also been mentioned as a potential departure.
Besiktas Targets Tottenham Defender
Turkish club Besiktas is reportedly considering a summer move for Kevin Danso. He’s on their shortlist alongside Fulham’s Issa Diop, according to reports from Takvim via Sport Witness.
Besiktas has started discussions about both players as they look to strengthen their defense.
Last winter, Besiktas added Emmanuel Agbadou from Wolverhampton Wanderers after long negotiations. Their coach, Sergen Yalcin, is now seeking another center-back of similar quality.
With Danso and Diop as potential targets, Besiktas has already reached out to both players and is likely to increase their efforts in the coming months, potentially making initial offers for both ahead of the summer window.
Tottenham Not Pressured to Sell Kevin Danso
Danso joined Tottenham on loan from RC Lens and made the move permanent in the summer of 2025.
Tottenham is not under pressure to sell Danso, as his contract extends until 2030. However, he faces stiff competition from Romero and van de Ven, which has limited his chances to start.
Given the uncertainty surrounding both Romero and van de Ven, Spurs may be hesitant to let Danso go. Additionally, Radu Dragusin and his agent have been considering options, making the club more cautious about losing another defender.
It will be interesting to see how things unfold as the summer transfer window approaches.
