The Houston Dynamo have brought back forward Aliyu Ibrahim from the Columbus Crew on Thursday.
In return for the 24-year-old Nigerian player, the Crew received $250,000 in general allocation money, with the potential for up to $500,000 more based on performance.
Ibrahim played for Houston from 2023 to 2025, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 66 MLS matches, including 51 starts.
“We are excited to have Aliyu Ibrahim back in Houston, where he was a key player during two successful seasons,” said Dynamo president of soccer Pat Onstad. “As we adapt our system this season, we aim to strengthen our wingback options, and Aliyu has the skills necessary to succeed in that role.”
“His capacity to cover ground, exploit space, and contribute on both end of the field aligns well with our expectations for wide players. We look forward to welcoming him and his family back to Houston.”
Last season, Ibrahim scored three goals and notched two assists in 23 appearances, including 12 starts, after being traded to the Crew in April. He has yet to play this season.
