Bayern Munich is no longer pursuing Yan Diomande, which could open the door for a summer transfer to Manchester United.
The Premier League team is looking for a right-footed player who can play on the left wing, a position they currently need to fill, with Michael Carrick hinting at their plans.
Diomande has become United’s top target for this role, following an impressive season at RB Leipzig.
Bayern Munich Steps Back from Yan Diomande
The 19-year-old has made a significant impact in the Bundesliga since his €20 million transfer from Leganes last summer.
“He’s incredible. In one-on-one situations, he usually wins,” said Diomande’s teammate, Yan Ouedraogo.
The player from Abidjan has already scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in 27 matches for Leipzig, establishing himself as one of the standout players in the German league this season.

| Bundesliga | 24 | 10 | 6 |
| German Cup | 3 | 1 | 1 |
While Manchester United is interested in signing Diomande next summer, they will face competition from other top European clubs, as talented players like him are rare.
The silver lining for United is that Bayern Munich has stepped back from the race due to the player’s high value.
“Yan Diomande is not a priority for Bayern’s management,” noted German journalist Christian Falk in his latest column.
“He has great quality and is performing well in the Bundesliga this season. The reason he’s off their list is not due to his skills, but because he’s too talented and expensive.”
According to Falk, Bayern is aware of RB Leipzig’s asking price, which starts at €100 million (£86.2 million), making it too high for their budget at the moment. Additionally, they already have Luis Diaz as their primary left-sided player, making it impractical to invest heavily in a backup.
Manchester United May Have the Upper Hand Against Spurs
With Bayern out of the picture, United still has to contend with other rivals, particularly from the Premier League.
Journalist Ben Jacobs recently reported that Tottenham Hotspur is also interested in signing Diomande.
