Manchester United is preparing for the summer transfer window, with Champions League qualification potentially influencing their squad improvements for the new season.
Currently third in the Premier League, Michael Carrick’s team could earn a place in UEFA’s elite tournament with a top-five finish.
Securing Champions League status could help the club attract new talent for the squad.
One potential target is Adam Wharton, who is expected to leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season.
Carlos Baleba is another player on the club’s radar, as Brighton and Hove Albion are lowering their asking price for the midfielder ahead of the summer.
Manchester United is also looking to strengthen their defense.
According to Ben Jacobs on the United Stand YouTube channel, the club is monitoring Charlie Cresswell.
Jacobs noted: “One name they are really interested in is Charlie Cresswell, who previously played for Leeds United.”
“He is an England Under-21 international, and Wolfsburg nearly signed him in January, but they couldn’t match Toulouse’s asking price.
“He’s still with Toulouse, playing regularly in Ligue 1. Along with other players, he is one of the profiles Manchester United is considering.”
West Ham United has also shown interest in Cresswell, but Manchester United’s pursuit could hinder the Hammers’ chances of acquiring him.
Regardless of where he ends up, the 23-year-old is likely to move to the Premier League as he weighs his options.
