The Miami Heat faced off against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, exchanging scoring bursts throughout the game. Miami’s decisive run in the final moments boosted their chances for a higher NBA play-in position.
With just over three minutes left and the Sixers up by four, Miami scored 14 consecutive points, securing a 119-109 victory. This win marks only their second in nine games and brings them within 1.5 games of Philadelphia in the race for the seventh seed.
Joel Embiid led the Sixers with 26 points but struggled, hitting just 10 of his 25 attempts. His -18 plus/minus reflects the Heat’s strong finish, as he missed three crucial shots in the last three minutes and recorded only seven rebounds.
Bam Adebayo nearly outperformed Embiid with an efficient 23 points, shooting 5-of-11 and converting 12 of 13 free throws. After a standout 83-point game earlier, Adebayo had been shooting just 34.9 percent before Monday’s match. Tyler Herro contributed significantly with 30 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter and eight during Miami’s closing run.
