Congratulations to 14-year NBA veteran Amar’e Stoudemire on his induction to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in his second year of eligibility!
Stoudemire was selected ninth overall in the 2002 NBA Draft after graduating from high school and quickly became a key player for the Phoenix Suns. In his rookie season, he played all 82 games, starting 71, and averaged 13.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, earning the Rookie of the Year title for the 2002-03 season.
He spent his first eight seasons with the Suns, making five All-Star teams and three All-NBA teams, including a First-Team All-NBA selection in 2006-07.
Stoudemire later signed with the New York Knicks, joining the team just before they traded for Carmelo Anthony. However, he faced challenges in New York, playing no more than 65 games in a season and the team failing to advance past the Eastern Conference semifinals during his tenure. He concluded his career with brief stints in Miami and Dallas, followed by several years in Israel before moving into coaching.
This leads us to today’s quiz. Stoudemire led the NBA in two-point field goals made for three different seasons. Can you name the players who led the league in made two-pointers for each season since the three-point era began?
Good luck!
