Manchester United defender Harry Amass will not return to Norwich City for the rest of the season, leaving Canaries manager Philippe Clement frustrated.
Amass, 19, was loaned out at the start of the season to gain senior experience.
He played for Sheffield Wednesday in the first half of the 2025/26 season before moving to Norwich for the second half.
Since joining Norwich in January, the left-back made only one appearance—a 15-minute stint against Coventry City—before getting injured.
He sustained a “serious” injury during training, confirmed later to be a hamstring issue.
Consequently, Manchester United recalled him for rehabilitation.
The initial agreement between Manchester United and Norwich was for him to stay at the club, with hopes for a timely return.
However, on April 4, it was reported that he would remain with Manchester United until the season’s end, making a return to Carrow Road unlikely.
Clement has expressed his frustration over the situation, confirming that Amass would not be coming back.
Before the match against Millwall, the 52-year-old stated, “We wished for a different outcome with Harry, but Manchester United decided against having him here for rehab.”
“It’s disappointing, but they are the owners and chose to keep him until the season ends,” Clement added, according to BBC Sport.
