U.S. men’s national team striker Patrick Agyemang had to leave his club match in England on a stretcher on Monday.
Agyemang, 25, awkwardly landed after jumping for the ball near the end of the first half during Derby County’s 2-0 victory over Stoke City. He was substituted by Jaydon Banel in the 41st minute.
Last month, Agyemang played in both USMNT friendlies that ended in losses against Portugal and Belgium, netting a goal in the latter match.
These were his first appearances for the national team since he played in the semifinals and final of the 2025 Gold Cup in July. He has achieved six goals in a total of 14 caps for the U.S.
A potential long-term injury could impact his role with the U.S. team as it prepares for this summer’s FIFA World Cup in North America. The United States will play its first group match on June 12 in Inglewood, California, against Paraguay.
