Diego Rossi scored in the 80th minute, helping the Columbus Crew to a 1-1 draw against Orlando City on Sunday night.

This was Rossi’s third goal of the season and the first for Columbus at home (1-3-3, 6 points). Previously, they had scored eight times in four away matches.

Striker Wessam Abou Ali contributed five of those goals but left the game in the 35th minute with a serious-looking knee injury.

Marco Pasalic put Orlando (1-5-1, 4 points) ahead early with his second goal. They had previously been outscored 16-0 in their last three away games.

Injuries also affected Orlando, as center backs Iago and Robin Jansson had to leave in the 75th and 78th minutes.

Columbus managed 19 shots overall compared to Orlando’s 5, with 7 shots on target forcing Orlando’s goalie Maxime Crepeau to make six saves.

After struggling to create chances for most of the match, Columbus finally found success shortly after Orlando’s substitutions.

Rossi picked up the ball on the right, passed to Taha Habroune, received the return pass in the box, and finished over the advancing Crepeau.

Crepeau’s performance was crucial for Orlando, especially with his best save against Max Arfsten in the 76th minute and another against Daniel Gazdag in the 88th.

Neither team created a serious chance to win during more than 11 minutes of added time in the second half.

Orlando opened the scoring in the 14th minute.

Ivan Angulo started the play with a pass on the left flank, dribbled down the wing, and sent a perfectly weighted ball to Tiago in the left side of the penalty area.

Tiago directed a first-touch, left-footed cross to Pasalic, who scored with a well-placed finish into the right corner past the diving goalkeeper Patrick Schulte.
