LA Galaxy came back from a 2-0 deficit to draw 2-2 against FC Dallas on Saturday night in Frisco, Texas. The Galaxy scored two goals in the first half to level the match.
Lucas Sanabria scored for LA (2-3-3, 9 points) and Joseph Paintsil equalized just before halftime. Although Dallas (3-1-4, 13 points) seemed to regain the lead when Kaick scored in the 75th minute, the goal was called back for offsides.
Petar Musa scored twice for Dallas, bringing his total for the season to nine goals, placing him at the top of the MLS goal-scoring list ahead of Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi and Nashville’s Sam Surridge. However, the Galaxy contained him well in the second half.
Musa opened the scoring just seven minutes in, taking advantage of a mistake by LA captain Maya Yoshida. Instead of passing to a teammate, Yoshida’s pass went directly to Musa, who then shot the ball into the bottom left corner from just outside the box.
Dallas furthered its lead in the 38th minute with a well-executed play. Logan Farrington delivered a cross, and a sliding Musa knocked it past Galaxy goalie JT Marcinowski.
Sanabria managed to score for LA in the 43rd minute when his shot from the edge of the box deflected off a Dallas defender, slipping past goalie Michael Collodi.
Paintsil, making his debut after missing the first eight games due to injury, equalized with a powerful shot from a pass by Gabriel Pec. He found space in the box and shot over Collodi and under the crossbar.
Dallas took 11 shots while LA had nine, continuing its unbeaten streak to five matches. Both teams managed to get five shots on target.
