Gavin Hunt has celebrated his team’s 3-1 victory over Sekhukhune United, referring to the match as a ‘hell of a game.’ The win exacerbates the struggles for Sekhukhune United, who are grappling with their ambition to secure a top-three finish in the league.
“It was a hell of a game,” Hunt stated after the match, according to the club’s website. He noted the match featured end-to-end action but expressed concern over the lack of control from either side. Hunt pointed out, “Sekhukhune could have had one or two goals themselves in the first half.”
Hunt praised the performance in the second half, highlighting that his team created several opportunities but lamented their failure to convert. “We started the second half well. We had three or four big chances which we didn’t take, and then they scored, and then we scored. But, all in all, we did well for the victory,” he remarked.
Despite his satisfaction with the win, Hunt reflected on the game’s transitional nature, expressing reservations about its edginess. He emphasized the progress made since January, stating, “where we are now compared to where we were in January is the most important thing.” Looking ahead, Hunt’s team, Stellies, will face Sundowns tomorrow evening at Loftus in a PSL match, where they aim to maintain their momentum in the pursuit of a top-eight finish.
