Real Betis is taking proactive steps to ensure the club is never without a coach for an extended period. The future of current head coach Manuel Pellegrini remains uncertain amid ongoing negotiations.

Details: According to Diário de Transferências and Radio Marca, Betis management has yet to finalize an agreement with Pellegrini. In the event that these negotiations fall through, the club has already identified a potential successor.

The leading candidate to replace Pellegrini is Spain’s Roberto Martínez, who is currently managing the Portugal national team. He might be available after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.

The strained relationship between Pellegrini and the Betis board is notably hindering discussions for a new contract, raising the possibility that he could depart from the club sooner than anticipated. Pellegrini has been at the helm of Real Betis since 2020, leading the team in 304 matches, with a record of 142 wins, 80 draws, and 82 losses.
