In a notable investment move, Jude Bellingham, the 22-year-old Real Madrid central midfielder, has acquired a one percent stake in the Birmingham Phoenix team for approximately $800,000. This acquisition marks an expansion of Bellingham’s interests beyond football, aligning with his long-standing passion for cricket.

Birmingham Phoenix is a competitor in The Hundred tournament, and the sale was facilitated by its owners, Knighthead Investment Management and Yorkshire, who agreed to transfer half a percent each from their shares to Bellingham.

The young athlete has frequently expressed his enthusiasm for cricket, having played seriously for Hagley Cricket Club in Worcestershire during his childhood.

This football season has seen Bellingham feature in 33 matches for Real Madrid, where he has scored six goals and provided four assists. His contract with the club, known as Los Galácticos, runs until 2029, with his transfer value estimated at €140 million according to Transfermarkt.
