Alejandro Grimaldo has officially decided against joining Barcelona. The 30-year-old Spanish left-back, currently with Bayer Leverkusen, has instead reached an agreement to join Turkish club Beşiktaş.
Details: According to Diario AS, Grimaldo grew impatient with the lack of a concrete offer from Barcelona and opted for Beşiktaş, which presented a significantly more lucrative financial package.
Reports suggest that Grimaldo’s transfer to Beşiktaş could cost the club approximately €15 million, with the player having already given his approval. Only minor details of the agreement are still pending.
This season, Grimaldo has played in 41 matches for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists. His current contract with the club is effective until the summer of 2027, and Transfermarkt values him at €24 million.
