Manchester United and Brentford Face Injury Challenges Ahead of Monday Match

Manchester United and Brentford are preparing for another round of injuries as they meet at Old Trafford on Monday evening. Both teams are striving for European qualification, with the Red Devils on the brink of Champions League entry with just five games remaining this season.

Brentford is in a competitive struggle for spots in the Conference League and Europa League, and a win could elevate them into contention.

However, if Keith Andrews’ side is to achieve that goal, they will be missing seven key players. The manager confirmed on the official Brentford website that Jordan Henderson, Vitaly Janelt, and Rico Henry are sidelined as they recover from injuries. Henderson has been out since late March, while Janelt is missing due to a metatarsal injury. Henry is dealing with a hamstring issue.

Additionally, Josh DaSilva will not participate because of a knee injury, and Kaye Furo is absent due to a groin injury. Fábio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo also remain unavailable as they continue to recover from ACL injuries.

Manchester United also faces injury challenges, although they are not as severe as Brentford’s situation. Michael Carrick shared updates on the official club website, noting that Patrick Dorgu is out but making positive progress. Matthijs de Ligt will also miss the match due to a back injury.

Leny Yoro may make an appearance, as Carrick mentioned a “possibility” of the central defender returning. Harry Maguire is set to come back after serving a two-match suspension linked to foul language.

Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez is unavailable as he continues to serve a three-match suspension for violent conduct after pulling the hair of Dominic Calvert-Lewin during a recent match against Leeds United.
