Ruben Amorim Evaluates Next Steps After Manchester United Exit
Ruben Amorim’s future plans come to light as the Portuguese manager seeks to move on from his tenure as Manchester United head coach.
Amorim, who aimed for European qualification this season with the Red Devils, was dismissed in January, as noted by Sir Jim Ratcliffe. During his time at the club, he averaged 1.4 points per game, winning 25 matches, while suffering 23 losses and drawing 15.
When compared to his previous tenures at Sporting CP (2.3 points per game) and Braga (2.4 points per game), it becomes evident how Amorim underperformed in his role at Manchester United.
Michael Carrick has taken over temporarily, achieving an impressive average of 2.2 points per game under his management.
Despite this, fans are still considering Amorim’s future, with DAZN predicting he might become the next Chelsea manager. Recent reports from A Bola suggest that he will spend the next season focusing on personal development, exchanging ideas with respected coaches, and enhancing his tactical knowledge.
However, the Portuguese outlet mentions that Amorim is not entirely opposed to taking on a managerial position before the summer of 2027, keeping a return to Portugal on the table as a possibility.
Amorim has recently been seen at Clube Atletico e Cultural (CAC), a club where he began his youth career as a player. While his visit seemed informal, it indicates that the 41-year-old is currently active in Portugal.
Benfica has also been mentioned as a potential destination for Amorim; however, a transfer appears unlikely unless Jose Mourinho departs at the end of this season.
With these reports, Ruben Amorim’s next steps become clearer as he aims to learn from his time at Manchester United and prepares for his future endeavors.
