Tottenham Faces Injury Concerns Despite Victory Over Wolves

Tottenham Hotspur fans experienced a mix of emotions during their match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. The team celebrated a significant moment in the 82nd minute when Joao Palhinha scored from Richarlison’s deflected shot, giving Spurs a 1-0 lead at Molineux. This crucial goal marked Tottenham’s first Premier League win since December 28, sparking a wave of joy among players, fans, and coaching staff alike.

However, the victory came at a cost. Dominic Solanke had to leave the game in the 40th minute due to a muscular issue, and Xavi Simons was stretchered off in the 63rd minute following a knee injury. With nine players already sidelined, the loss of Solanke and Simons adds further strain to the team’s injury list.

Injury Updates from Roberto De Zerbi

Roberto De Zerbi provided updates on Solanke and Simons’ conditions, stating that the club’s medical team will evaluate their injuries following the match. He explained, “Solanke has a muscular injury, while Xavi is dealing with his knee. We will assess both in the next few days,” during his press conference (h/t Football London).

“Solanke’s injury does not seem serious, but I cannot determine how many games he will miss. I am more concerned about Xavi, as knee injuries can vary in severity. He felt pain, but after speaking with him, he seems to feel better than when the injury occurred.”
