Luke Littler Ventures into Horse Racing, Teams Up with Michael Owen

Luke Littler continues to make headlines away from the oche, with the two-time PDC World Champion now involved in an unexpected venture outside of darts.

The PDC, Professional Darts Corporation, is the leading body in professional darts.

Littler has quickly become one of its biggest stars in recent years.

The 19-year-old has been open about his support for Manchester United.

He has attended several matches.

The teenager was present in the away end at Molineux for United’s 4-1 win over Wolves, sparking controversy over how he obtained the tickets.

Luke Littler has also made a special presentation at Old Trafford during the previous season, further strengthening his connection with the club and its fanbase.

Now, according to The Sun, Littler has teamed up with Michael Owen and fellow darts player Stephen Bunting.

The trio have purchased a two-year-old colt named “Bunting Mental”, with the horse set to be trained in Cheshire by Hugo Palmer.

The horse is also expected to run in Littler’s signature colours of purple and yellow, adding a personal touch to the venture.

Owen’s involvement is perhaps less surprising given his long-standing connection to horse racing.

Since retiring from football, the former striker has built a strong presence in the sport.

He has been owning and breeding racehorses for over two decades.

During his playing career, Owen represented Manchester United between 2009 and 2012, making over 50 appearances and scoring memorable goals, including a famous late winner against Manchester City.

Despite also being strongly associated with Liverpool, Michael Owen has remained vocal on football matters.

This includes sharing his thoughts on Manchester United signings such as Joshua Zirkzee back in 2024.

This latest move highlights how footballers and athletes continue to expand their interests beyond their primary sport, with Littler now following a similar path alongside experienced figures like Owen.
