Tottenham Faces Key Player Departures This Summer

Tottenham Hotspur must secure their Premier League status this season, as the potential exit of crucial players looms large over the club.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has reached a full agreement with Inter Milan for a possible summer return to Italy. Meanwhile, both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven’s futures remain uncertain, and Everton is planning to bring back Richarlison this summer.

Additionally, left-back Destiny Udogie is attracting interest, with Juventus reportedly keen to acquire the defender despite his inconsistent season due to injuries.

Juventus Eyes Swap Deal Involving Michele Di Gregorio

A report from Calciomercato indicates that Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti aims to sign Destiny Udogie, proposing Michele Di Gregorio as part of the deal.

Udogie has struggled with injuries this season, making only 16 Premier League appearances, with just 10 as a starter. He featured in the first two matches under new coach Roberto De Zerbi but missed the recent win against Wolves due to an unspecified issue.

Regardless of Tottenham’s end-of-season outcome, Udogie’s future appears uncertain. The club has positioned itself as frontrunners to sign Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson on a free transfer, contingent on remaining in the Premier League. This suggests that Tottenham acknowledges the left-back position as an area needing improvement.

If a swap deal occurs, bringing Udogie to Juventus and Di Gregorio to Tottenham, it may be a mutually beneficial scenario. Di Gregorio has gained a reputation in Italian football for being a reliable goalkeeper, providing strong command in the box. His addition could strengthen Spurs’ defensive lineup, offering more stability than Vicario.

It remains to be seen, however, if Tottenham’s leadership will approve such a deal should Juventus formally propose it.
