Manchester United Youth Teams Find Success Despite Senior Setbacks
Manchester United’s schedule has looked very different this season compared to previous campaigns, with fewer fixtures across the board.
The club were knocked out by Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup at the second-round stage, which was their first hurdle.
The Red Devils also exited the FA Cup against Brighton in the third round.
That follows on from last season, where United lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur and finished 15th in the league.
That meant there was no European football for Manchester United this season.
Despite that, there has still been success elsewhere.
United have already booked their place in the FA Youth Cup final against Manchester City after beating Crystal Palace in the semi-finals.
At youth level, results have continued to impress.
Manchester United’s Under-21s have now progressed to the Premier League 2 play-off semi-finals after securing a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace, as confirmed via the club’s official website.
Goals from Dan Armer and Chido Obi ensured a comfortable win, sending the side into the next stage of the competition.
The victory continues a strong run of form for the young Reds.
They’ve shown consistency throughout the campaign and are now just one step away from reaching the final.
Their performance against Palace was controlled and efficient, with both goals highlighting the attacking quality within the squad.
Following the result, United’s semi-final opponents in the 2025/26 Premier League 2 play-offs have now been confirmed.
Manchester United will face Manchester City.
This sets up another important test as they look to secure silverware at this level.
The competition has provided a platform for several players to push for higher opportunities, with strong performances often catching the attention of first-team staff.
With momentum building and confidence high, United’s youngsters will now turn their focus to the semi-final.
They will be aiming to continue their impressive run and take another step towards lifting the Premier League 2 title.
