Arsenal and Bayern Munich Eye Potential Move for Marcus Rashford

Arsenal and Bayern Munich have reportedly begun sizing up potential moves for Marcus Rashford this summer.

According to MailSport, the two in-form clubs are ‘monitoring’ the on-loan Manchester United star’s uncertain situation as Barcelona mull over whether they will activate his £26 million buy clause.

United can capitalise on external Rashford interest while Barcelona drag their heels

Should they eventually decide against it, it could pave the way for Arsenal and Bayern to test United’s resolve and snap up the forward.

In that case, United would also likely increase their price tag for Rashford, who is valued at £34.5m by Transfermarkt.

Rashford’s priority is to stay with Barcelona long-term, having enjoyed a new lease of life over in Catalonia. However, the ball is in their court to meet the Red Devils’ demands, which were firmly outlined all the way back in July 2025 when he made the switch.

It’s difficult to imagine the Carrington graduate representing a direct Premier League rival like Arsenal; he did spend a season on loan with Aston Villa, but it goes without saying that they’re not viewed in the same bracket as the likes of the Gunners, Liverpool, and Manchester City.

INEOS already plotting swoop for Rashford replacement in form of Rafael Leao

Mail’s report adds that Rashford’s prospective sale would then pave the way for United to firm up their interest in Rafael Leao.

INEOS are keen to strengthen the position anyway, but even more so when Rashford’s exit becomes permanent.

They have identified Leao, 26, as a proven option who might not break the bank in comparison to other targets around his age, with AC Milan expected to demand in the region of £50-60m to facilitate the Portugal international’s departure.
