Celtic Secures Vital Away Victory Against Hibernian
Last weekend, Celtic pulled off a crucial win away to Hibernian in the second game of the split, and 35th of the season overall.
With this win, although Martin O’Neill’s side are three points off the top of the table from Hearts, their fate remains in their own hands, with the Edinburgh outfit coming to Celtic Park on the final day. Simply put, if Celtic win their final three games of the season, they will achieve a fifth straight league title.
The win at Easter Road was another hard-fought victory, with several players putting in professional displays. None more so than Alistair Johnston, who has been named in the SPFL official Team of the Week for game week 35.
You have to say, very well deserved. On his first start since all the way back in October, he was his usual energetic self, and produced an impressive and absolutely crucial assist for Daizen Maeda to open the scoring.
Aside from the assist, he also created a further two chances, made four recoveries, and won 2/2 total duels, all in just 64 minutes. It was a smart move from O’Neill to manage his minutes after such a long injury. He will absolutely be needed over the last three games of the season.
