Ronaldo Scores Milestone Goal as Al-Nassr Defeats Al-Shabab
Cristiano Ronaldo marked a significant milestone by scoring his 100th Saudi Pro League goal as Al-Nassr triumphed over Al-Shabab with a score of 4-2. With this victory, Al-Nassr climbed to 82 points from 32 matches, placing them five points ahead of Al-Hilal.
The 41-year-old forward netted the landmark goal by converting a cross from Sadio Mané at the near post in the 75th minute, adding to his impressive tally of 971 career goals. This goal also marked his 26th league goal of the current season.
“Ronaldo is always dangerous going forward and we saw that again today,” said Al-Nassr coach Jorge Jesus. In addition to Ronaldo’s performance, João Félix, who joined the club from Chelsea in July, scored three goals for the league leaders.
The win positioned Al-Nassr five points clear of Al-Hilal, who have three matches remaining, one more than Al-Nassr. Al-Hilal is set to face Al-Kholood on Friday before a crucial match against Al-Nassr on Tuesday that could decide the league title.
“Now we have a derby match against our rival, which is a difficult encounter,” Jesus mentioned. “We are fully aware of its importance, and we are dealing with it with complete focus as we know that small details could decide the result.”
Despite his remarkable achievements, Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, has yet to secure a major trophy in Saudi Arabia since joining Al-Nassr in December 2022.
