Manchester United is receiving accolades for outstanding individual performances during the 2025/26 season.
Bruno Fernandes has emerged as a top contender for the PFA Player of the Year award, showcasing his exceptional talent under multiple managers.
Pundits, including Roy Keane and Gary Neville, have debated whether the 31-year-old merits the award.
However, it is not just the first team that is drawing attention.
United’s academy system has also had another remarkable year.
Several young players have established themselves as some of the brightest talents in English football.
Now, two rising stars from Carrington have officially earned recognition from the Premier League.
Manchester United Duo Nominated
The Premier League has confirmed that two Manchester United players, JJ Gabriel and Albert Mills, have been nominated for the 2025/26 U18 Premier League Player of the Season award.
Gabriel has celebrated a remarkable breakthrough year at just 15 years old.
The attacking prodigy has found the net 22 times in the U18 Premier League this season, significantly outpacing any other Manchester United player in the competition by 15 goals.
His ascent in the sport has been extraordinary.
In April 2025, Gabriel became the youngest player to feature for Manchester United’s U18 team, scoring two goals on his debut against Leeds United at just 14 years old.
Since then, he has rapidly advanced through the club’s age groups.
JJ Gabriel’s Rapid Rise Continues
Gabriel was given the number 95 shirt for the current campaign and has consistently trained with Manchester United’s first team.
The teenager has also played for both the England U16 and U17 teams, even though he is significantly younger than many of his teammates.
Manchester United is already planning to include Gabriel in the club’s upcoming pre-season activities as the excitement surrounding his future grows.
Meanwhile, defender Albert Mills has also been nominated after an exceptional season in United’s defense.
Now 18 years old, the centre-back has become a vital player for the academy side, with his solid physical presence and consistency drawing attention throughout the year.
According to the official Premier League announcement, both United youngsters will compete against talents from Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, and Tottenham for the award.
