Individual Stats:
- Temwa Chawinga scored a hat trick during Sunday’s match, marking her first in the NWSL and being the first regular season hat trick for the Current. Kristen Hamilton previously achieved this in a Challenge Cup match in 2023.
- Chawinga has now scored 29 goals at CPKC Stadium, surpassing her opponents, who have a total of 27 goals.
- Mimi Van Zanten’s goal for the Wave means she and her sister Kiki are the fifth pair of siblings to score in the NWSL, joining Kristie and Sam Mewis, Alyssa and Gisele Thompson, Madison and Riley Tiernan, and Tess and Meg Boade.
- Barbra Banda has reached a milestone by scoring in three consecutive games, totaling eight goals in eight matches. However, she did not extend her streak of braces, being the first player to do so without her team earning a point.
- Kate Del Fava achieved the milestone of 60 regular season games played on Wednesday, followed by her 61st on Sunday. She has participated in every minute of each match, with her minutes streak now at 5,490.
- Mina Tanaka assisted in both goals for the Royals during their match against the Dash, becoming the first player in the Royals’ history to achieve a multi-assist game.
- Yazmeen Ryan assisted Janine Sonis during Saturday’s game against the Dash, marking the first instance of a Summit player achieving two assists in a game, alongside their first brace.
- Jordan Silkowitz has started 20 consecutive matches for Bay FC, setting a record in the club’s history. She secured her second consecutive clean sheet, amassing a total of 225 shutout minutes and breaking her club record.
- In Utah, the Royals have exhibited a strong defense. Mandy McGlynn earned her second and third straight clean sheets since her return to the starting lineup, expanding her minutes streak to 391. Alongside contributions from Mia Justus, the Royals have recorded five consecutive clean sheets with a team total of 468 shutout minutes.
- This week saw Ivy Younce debut in the 85th minute for the Courage. The 2025 Conference USA Player of the Year, however, was on the field for just two minutes before the Pride scored the game’s only goal.
- Claire Emslie made her first appearance in a year following maternity leave while playing a reserve role for Angel City on Saturday. Emslie had welcomed a son in December.
- Kaleigh Kurtz has now logged 122 consecutive regular season matches and accumulated 10,942 consecutive minutes, both league records. Her streak began on June 26, 2021, while with the Courage (the unrounded number results from a rain-shortened match in 2023).
Team Stats:
- The Washington Spirit have achieved five consecutive wins, matching the club record from 2021-2022. They aim for a sixth victory on Friday night in San Diego.
- The Royals earned a victory and a draw last week, which extended their winning streak to five before it concluded. One more match without a loss will tie their record from the end of last season. Refer to the previous team shutout information for more details.
- Angel City is experiencing its first four-game losing streak after a strong start of 3-0-0 this season.
- The Stars faced their third consecutive shutout, marking the fifth occurrence in club history, including one earlier this season. They have not previously gone four straight games without scoring and are close to tying a club record of seven shutouts this season. They are also 46 minutes away from the record of 355 consecutive minutes without a goal, set last year.
- Gotham has conceded a total of three goals in two matches against expansion teams Denver and Boston (0-1-1) yet allowed just two goals in their other seven matches (4-1-2).
- The Reign have failed to score since March, a stretch covering four games and 409 minutes. This matches a previous five-game shutout streak from 2024.
