Manchester United Eyes Neco Williams Amid Nottingham Forest Contract Talks

Manchester United are actively evaluating defensive options as the summer transfer window approaches, with former Liverpool full-back Neco Williams now being considered for a potential move to Old Trafford.

The club aims to bolster its squad in various positions this summer following their return to UEFA Champions League football under Michael Carrick.

A new midfielder is a top priority for United after Casemiro’s decision to leave at the end of the season.

In recent weeks, several offensive and defensive players have been linked to the club.

According to BBC Sport, Nottingham Forest is preparing to offer Williams an upgraded contract in response to increasing interest from other Premier League clubs.

Manchester United is reportedly among those that have inquired about Williams’ situation ahead of the summer transfer window.

Other clubs such as Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Everton have also made ‘discreet enquiries’ regarding the Welsh international.

Williams has delivered impressive performances for Nottingham Forest this season.

The 25-year-old has participated in 51 matches across all competitions and has even taken on the captain’s role at times during the campaign.

Forest hopes that an enhanced contract offer will alleviate any uncertainty surrounding his future.

Meanwhile, Manchester United has confirmed that they will debut their new 2026/27 home kit against Nottingham Forest and Brighton in the final two matches of the season.

The club is also making early preparations for next season’s third kit launch, with Angry Ginge reportedly involved in promotional filming related to the upcoming Adidas release.

Williams rose through Liverpool’s academy before permanently joining Nottingham Forest in 2022 after a loan period at Fulham.

He is one of several defenders that Manchester United is monitoring as summer approaches.

However, it appears that Nottingham Forest is keen to reward his performances and retain him at the City Ground.
