The U20 women’s team from Benin, known as the Amazones, has been placed in Group A for the upcoming World Cup. This will mark the team’s debut at the tournament, which is set to take place in Poland.
In Group A, the Amazones will compete against the host nation Poland, as well as Mexico and Argentina. The tournament is an important milestone for women’s football in Benin, showcasing the team’s budding talent on an international stage.
Benin’s first match in the group stage is scheduled for 5 September 2026, where they will face Mexico. Following this, they will take on Argentina on 8 September, before concluding the group stage against Poland on 11 September.
