Portuguese football star Bernardo Silva has expressed that he is not in a rush to return to his boyhood club, Benfica. In a recent interview, the 31-year-old Manchester City and Portugal attacking midfielder responded to questions regarding a possible summer transfer to Benfica.
Although Silva did not completely dismiss the idea of returning to Benfica, he emphasized that the timing is not suitable at present. He stated,
“I’d love to come back, but at another time… I don’t know if Benfica will still want me by then,”
during a live broadcast on Canal 11.
A product of Benfica’s youth academy, Silva progressed through the club’s ranks before making a significant €15 million transfer to Monaco in 2015. His current contract with Manchester City is set to expire this summer, and there has been no announcement regarding an extension. Transfermarkt currently values Silva at €27 million.
