Manchester United Confirm Rasmus Hojlund’s Permanent Transfer to Napoli

Manchester United are fully planning for the summer now that the season is coming to an end.

Some exits were expected, while others depended on performances away from the club during temporary spells abroad.

One major departure has now been confirmed after a decisive night in Italy.

Manchester United have now seen Rasmus Hojlund’s move to Napoli become permanent after a contractual clause was triggered.

Napoli’s 3-0 win over Pisa mathematically secured Champions League qualification, activating the obligation to buy in Hojlund’s loan agreement.

The Italian side had already paid £5 million (€6 million) for the initial loan, with a further (£37 million) €44 million now due as part of the permanent transfer.

That means the Danish striker’s time at United has officially come to an end.

Rasmus Hojlund played a key role in the result that sealed the transfer.

Hojlund assisted the opening goal for Scott McTominay before adding Napoli’s third in stoppage time to complete the win.

The performance earned widespread praise in Italy, with several outlets naming him among the best performers on the pitch.

Sky Sport Italia awarded him a 7.5/10 rating and named him the match’s standout player.

Sport Mediaset gave him a 7/10 and wrote: “The best on the pitch with McTominay, he roams all over the attacking front and provides no reference points for Pisa’s fragile defense.

“He returns to scoring, is always present for every ball and drives the rival central defenders crazy.”

The move initially raised questions after his mixed spell at Old Trafford, but his first season in Italy has shown signs of steady progress.

Hojlund has made 30 Serie A appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 3 assists.

Across all competitions, he has added another 4 goals and 1 assist, including contributions in the Champions League.

His partnership with McTominay has become a notable part of Napoli’s attack, with both former United players playing important roles in Antonio Conte’s side.

Rasmus Hojlund Sends Farewell Message to Manchester United

Following qualification, Hojlund appeared to confirm his departure publicly.

He posted on Instagram: “I’m now officially a Napoli player and I’m saying goodbye to Manchester United.”

That message effectively closed the chapter on a player who arrived with huge expectation but leaves after a short spell, with his future now fully tied to Serie A.
