Jayden Adams is drawing attention as Mamelodi Sundowns’ controversial figure following a series of robust displays on the field. The former Stellenbosch FC midfielder’s aggressive style has overshadowed some of his positive contributions to the team.

Adams was sent off during a recent PSL match against Kaizer Chiefs for a tackle on Mduduzi Shabalala, which has heightened scrutiny on his playing style. As Sundowns prepare to face ASFAR in the Caf Champions League first leg final at Loftus Versveld, Adams expressed concern about controlling his aggression on the pitch.

“It plays a lot on my mind because this is a big one you know. You have to be really careful and you don’t want to put your team in a situation they don’t want to be in, but if I put that behind me it should be good,” he said ahead of the crucial match in Pretoria.

Adams emphasized that winning the Caf Champions League would be significant for Sundowns, particularly given the team’s lack of silverware this season under coach Miguel Cardoso.
