Manchester City is preparing for the impending departure of Pep Guardiola and has already identified a potential successor. The club needed to address the financial terms related to Guardiola’s former club before moving forward.

Details: Reports indicate that Chelsea will receive financial compensation from Manchester City, enabling Enzo Maresca to start his role immediately. Notably, Maresca was personally recommended by Guardiola.

In a competitive scenario, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, Juventus, and AC Milan had all approached Maresca’s agent, Jorge Mendes. However, the discussions did not progress, as Maresca expressed a clear preference to manage Manchester City.

Previously, it was mentioned that Chelsea was considering legal action against Manchester City, with the potential for escalation if Chelsea did not receive the agreed compensation.

It is worth recalling: Chelsea’s new head coach, Xabi Alonso, has begun establishing the core of his squad for the upcoming season, expressing strong intentions to retain key players.
