PSG Close to Signing AS Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche
PSG are believed to be on track to finally complete the signing of AS Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche, as per a report by Le10Sport.
The player, an attacking midfielder capable of playing as a winger, has been on the radar for the side from the French capital for two years now, and this summer transfer window could finally be the moment that a deal materializes.
Akliouche was poised to join PSG last summer as well, with a reported fee of €70 million. However, the deal collapsed in the final stages, leaving the French youngster at Monaco, his boyhood club. After a dip in form following the failed transfer, he has since regained his performance level during the latter part of the season, coinciding with his international duty with the French national team in the United States during the March break. This resurgence has reignited PSG’s interest, as they prepare to push for the 24-year-old’s signing.
The acquisition of the young attacking midfielder is undoubtedly a priority for Luis Campos. The club held a meeting in the Middle East a few weeks ago to discuss the possibility of signing the talented player, emphasizing the deal. Nevertheless, it remains uncertain whether an agreement will finally materialize and at what fee, or if it will fall apart once again. However, considering PSG’s current squad, Akliouche could be a compelling addition.
