Bayern Munich to Honor Bastian Schweinsteiger Before DFB-Pokal Final
Bayern Munich are preparing to honour a former Manchester United player ahead of this weekend’s DFB-Pokal final against Stuttgart.
The Bundesliga giants will face Stuttgart in Berlin as they look to end the season with another major trophy.
However, attention will also be placed on a special ceremony before kick-off.
According to German outlet Bild, a former Manchester United star will receive a major honour at the Olympiastadion.

It was also recently revealed that Bayern scouts had been monitoring Manchester United academy talent Noah Ajayi.
Now, another player with strong ties to both clubs is set to take centre stage in Germany.
Bastian Schweinsteiger will officially become part of the ‘Walk of Fame of the DFB Cup’ in Berlin.
The former midfielder will have his footprints immortalised in bronze following his legendary success in the competition.
Schweinsteiger enjoyed an outstanding career with Bayern Munich before later joining Manchester United in 2015 under Louis van Gaal.
Although injuries limited his impact at Old Trafford, he still became a respected figure among supporters during his time at the club.
The German made 35 appearances for Manchester United before leaving for Chicago Fire in 2017.
Before that, he established himself as one of Bayern Munich’s greatest-ever midfielders.
Bastian Schweinsteiger won the DFB-Pokal seven times across his career.
That remains the all-time record.
He featured in eight finals overall and scored nine goals in 49 appearances in the competition.
Bild also noted that the honour is awarded alongside the German Football Association and football magazine 11 Freunde.
Previous winners include German legends Gerd Muller and Gunter Netzer.
Schweinsteiger’s final DFB-Pokal triumph came in 2014 when Bayern defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in Berlin.
Now, more than a decade later, he will receive another special moment at the same stadium.
