Manchester United Goalkeeper Radek Vitek Set to Return from Loan at Bristol City

Manchester United made a major goalkeeping decision last summer when they signed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.

The Belgian goalkeeper has since enjoyed an outstanding first season at Old Trafford.

He was recently named The Athletic’s Premier League Signing of the Season after helping United secure Champions League qualification.

However, several other goalkeepers connected to the club have also impressed elsewhere during the campaign.

One of them now looks set to return to Carrington.

Bristol City have officially confirmed that Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek will return to his parent club following the conclusion of his loan spell.

The announcement was included in Bristol City’s retained list published on the club’s official website after the end of the 2025/26 season.

Vitek enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Championship and became one of Bristol City’s standout performers throughout the season.

The Czech goalkeeper even won the club’s 2025/26 Player of the Season award after producing several important performances between the posts.

His strong form also helped Bristol City remain competitive near the top end of the table during large parts of the campaign.

The 22-year-old joined Bristol City on loan last summer in search of regular first-team football.

It’s safe to say that he quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Despite the successful season, his long-term future remains unclear.

Earlier this month, Radek Vitek admitted that his Manchester United future was still up in the air and revealed he was unsure what the club’s plans for him would be heading into next season.

That uncertainty still remains.

Manchester United already have several goalkeeping decisions to make this summer.

Andre Onana spent the season away on loan, while Senne Lammens has firmly established himself as the club’s number one.

Vitek’s development now gives the club another option to assess during pre-season.

The goalkeeper will officially return to Manchester United this summer after Bristol City confirmed the end of his temporary spell at Ashton Gate.
