Ederson Set for Manchester United Move as Transfer Talks Progress

Ederson has been linked with a move to Manchester United as the Red Devils begin their summer transfer business.

Midfield reinforcements are arguably needed given Casemiro’s departure after a four-year stay. Kobbie Mainoo has already signed a new contract, extending his stay at United, but this is not enough.

This is where Ederson may come in. Having agreed personal terms with Manchester United in the early stages of this month, club-to-club negotiations are needed for the deal to be successful.

These are continuing as the two parties attempt to reach a reasonable price for the midfielder although Atalanta have already begun to identify potential replacements ahead of the move.

Now, the Italian club’s manager, Raffaele Palladino, has broken his silence on the ongoing developments, confirming that the midfielder is expected to leave.

Speaking after the game against Fiorentina on Friday, Palladino stated: “It was a decision we agreed with the boy because there’s something going on in the transfer market.

“The fact that such a player is being followed by such a big club should be a source of pride.”

With these comments now public, it appears that the midfielder will be leaving Atalanta in the coming weeks.

Having made 180 appearances for the club across a four-year stay, his potential departure may be met with some sadness from supporters.

For Ederson, however, moving to Manchester United could represent the next step in becoming one of the greats of his time.

If he can succeed at Old Trafford, where the pressure to deliver is high, it is likely that he will be viewed in the same vein as other successful footballers.

The midfielder must first complete his move, something which can only be done when club-to-club negotiations have successfully concluded.
