Enzo Maresca, who is poised to become Manchester City‘s new head coach next season, is actively pursuing potential transfer opportunities. The Italian manager has identified Enzo Fernandez, a player he previously mentored, as his top target to enhance the club’s midfield.
According to reports from The Touchline, Fernandez is reportedly enthusiastic about joining Manchester City, particularly because he seeks the opportunity to compete in the Champions League. Talks between Maresca and Fernandez regarding a possible transfer have already taken place.
Fernandez’s potential transfer may be further facilitated by the current tensions between the Chelsea board and the player, especially following his public declaration of interest in joining Real Madrid. The midfielder has participated in 53 matches for Chelsea this season, scoring 15 goals and providing 7 assists. His contract with Chelsea extends until the summer of 2032, with an estimated market value of €90 million.
